While working on a larger pool tile project at this property, the homeowner asked us to take care of two additional projects—one involving pool safety and the other requiring some careful underground repair work.
Adding a Safety Handrail to Newly Tiled Pool Steps
After completing the installation of new tile on the pool’s large entry steps, the Fort Lauderdale homeowner wanted to make entering and exiting the pool safer and easier.
The Pool Butler installed a new “dip-to-water” safety handrail alongside the newly tiled steps. A properly positioned pool handrail provides additional stability when entering or leaving the water, particularly on wet surfaces.
It was a relatively small addition to the overall project, but an important one. Pool improvements aren’t always about pumps, filters, plumbing, or appearance. Safety should always be part of the equation, especially around steps and other pool entry areas.
Bringing a Signature Lion Head Fountain Back to Life
The second project presented a very different challenge.
One of the distinctive features of this Fort Lauderdale pool is its decorative lion head fountains. Unfortunately, one of the fountains had stopped working. Unfortunately, the water supply line feeding it had developed an underground leak beneath the pool deck pavers.
Getting to the damaged line required careful work. Rather than unnecessarily disturbing a large section of the deck, our technicians carefully chipped out the affected pavers and hand-dug beneath the deck to locate the leaking water line.
Once the leak area was excavated, we repaired the plumbing and tested the line to make sure the lion head fountain was operating properly again. We then completed the job by installing new matching pavers, restoring the pool deck as closely as possible to its original appearance.

What makes this particular Fort Lauderdale project interesting is the variety of work involved at a single property.
